Serious Survival Shelters

The world is dangerous and preparing for survival means getting it right the first time, there may be no second chance. Hardened Structures, www.hardenedstructures.com, is in the serious survival shelter business.

Now, citizens can get government-level protection from nuclear attack, biological war, terrorism, pandemics, famine, earthquakes, volcanic action, magnetic pole switch, EMP, high-energy solar flares, 2012 predictions coming true, civil unrest caused by any of the above events, and more.

Planning for survival can be very involved. Constructing these survival facilities is not like conventional construction. First comes the threat assessment (the specific threats that the shelter must be designed to mitigate); budgeting for the threat; specialized engineering and design; site layout and preparation; material choices; level of security and privacy; sustained survival support, such as independent water supply, power, heat/cooling control, air filtration, shelter dynamics (living conditions), long-term storage, external security, and much more.

From simple backyard steel fallout shelters, hardened homes, specialized compounds, hardened bunkers, governmental facilities and even entire survival shelter communities, the planning is basically driven by the threat assessment and the client's budget, which typically begins at $60,000 for a basic backyard type home fallout shelter.

Hardened Structures even has a staff of former military special operations people who advise citizens how to protect themselves from civil threats and covert construction operations.

Hardened Structure's Managing Member, Brian Camden, tells of a client who wanted a shelter in the backyard of an existing house without the nearby neighbors knowing of it: "We created a contest that the two neighbors and their families 'by chance' won. The prize was an all expense paid 10-day trip to Disneyland. While the neighbors were on their trips we successfully and secretly installed an underground shelter for the client."
